Terms & License

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms & License govern the purchase, download, installation and use of Sternenherz software, digital products, files, updates, documentation, license keys and related digital materials provided by Sternenherz.

By purchasing, downloading, installing, copying or using any Sternenherz software or digital product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, do not purchase, download, install or use the product.

1. Provider

Sternenherz software and digital products are provided by:

Email: support (at) sternen-herz.de

2. Products

Sternenherz products may include music software, audio and MIDI tools, creative music-production utilities, plugins, standalone applications, documentation, presets, downloads, license keys and related digital content.

Examples may include Sternenherz Harmony Tool, Sternenherz Looper or future Sternenherz software products. Product-specific features, system requirements, formats, license options and usage notes may be described on the respective product page, manual, checkout page or download page.

3. License Grant

When you purchase the software, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the software in accordance with these terms.

The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted to you remain with the provider or the respective rights holders.

4. Personal and Commercial Music Use

You may use Sternenherz software for private and commercial music production. You may use creative results created by you with the software in your own music, productions, videos, performances, releases and client work.

You retain your rights to the music, audio, MIDI files, performances and creative works you create with the software. Sternenherz does not claim ownership of your musical output.

5. Permitted Installation and Use

Unless a different license type is expressly agreed, one license is intended for one individual user. You may install and use the software on devices owned or controlled by you, provided that the software is used only by you.

For studios, companies, schools, teams or shared workstations, each individual user needs their own license unless a separate multi-user or site license has been agreed in writing.

6. Restrictions

You may not:

  • sell, rent, lease, sublicense, lend or otherwise transfer your license to another person without prior written permission;
  • share license keys, license files, accounts, download links or installers publicly or with unauthorized users;
  • copy, redistribute, publish or make the software available to third parties, except as expressly allowed by these terms;
  • modify, adapt, translate, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the software, except where this is expressly permitted by mandatory law;
  • bypass, remove or tamper with technical protection, licensing, activation or update mechanisms;
  • use the software in a way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others;
  • present the software, its code, design, documentation, branding or assets as your own product.

7. Ownership and Intellectual Property

Sternenherz software and digital products, including code, design, user interfaces, graphics, documentation, presets, assets, names, logos and related materials, are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Except for the limited license granted above, you do not receive any ownership rights in the software or related materials.

8. Updates and Changes

We may provide updates, bug fixes, improvements or new versions at our discretion. Minor updates may be provided free of charge where available. Major upgrades, new editions or additional products may require a separate purchase.

There is no guarantee that updates will be provided indefinitely or that older versions will remain supported forever.

9. Beta, Preview and Pre-Release Versions

If a version is marked as beta, preview, experimental or pre-release, it may contain bugs, incomplete features or compatibility issues. Such versions are provided for testing and feedback and should be used with appropriate backups and care.

10. System Requirements and Compatibility

The software may require a compatible operating system, audio/MIDI setup, DAW, plugin host or other technical environment. Compatibility information may be provided on the product page, manual or download page.

We make reasonable efforts to describe compatibility accurately, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with every device, operating system, DAW, plugin host, driver, hardware setup or third-party software.

11. Support

Support requests can be sent to support (at) sternen-herz.de. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to support requests and fix confirmed issues, but we do not guarantee a specific response time or that every issue can be resolved.

Support may be limited for outdated versions, unsupported systems, modified software, unauthorized copies or setups that do not meet the stated system requirements.

12. Purchases, Payment and Delivery

Digital purchases may be processed by an external checkout, merchant-of-record or payment provider, such as Lemon Squeezy or another provider. Additional checkout terms, payment terms and privacy information of the respective provider may apply.

Delivery is usually made digitally, for example through a download link, license key, account access or email. You are responsible for providing a valid email address and keeping your purchase information safe.

13. Refunds and Cancellation Rights

Refunds, cancellation rights and withdrawal information are described in our separate Refund Policy. Please read the Refund Policy before purchasing.

For digital content and software downloads, special rules may apply. If you expressly consent to immediate access or download and acknowledge that you may lose your statutory withdrawal right, your right of withdrawal may expire once access or download begins, where permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

14. Backups and Data Responsibility

You are responsible for backing up your own projects, presets, MIDI files, license information, DAW sessions, audio files and other data. Music software can interact with complex host environments, plugins, drivers and hardware. Regular backups are strongly recommended.

15. Warranty Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the software is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every system, or suitable for every individual workflow or purpose.

Mandatory statutory warranty rights and consumer protection rights remain unaffected.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, loss of projects, interruption of work, or damage caused by incompatible systems, third-party software, drivers, hardware or user modifications.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, mandatory product liability, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

17. Termination

Your license may terminate automatically if you materially breach these terms. In that case, you must stop using the software and delete unauthorized copies, license files or redistributed materials.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, restrictions, limitation of liability and payment obligations.

18. Third-Party Components and Trademarks

The software or website may refer to third-party products, formats, platforms or trademarks, such as DAWs, plugin formats, operating systems or audio technologies. All third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Any third-party components, open-source software or separate license terms, if included, remain subject to their respective licenses.

You are responsible for using the software in compliance with applicable laws, including export control laws, sanctions regulations and intellectual property laws.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & License when the software, website, checkout, business model or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this website.

Changes do not retroactively remove mandatory rights you already have under applicable law.

21. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer residing in another country, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.
